"No one compares to Tiger Woods." Really? How about Jack Nicklaus? Last I checked, Jack still has more lifetime majors than Tiger. What a stupid comment.

The whole operation is a mess... They call it the British Open and then the headline is Jordan Spieth centric...

No one can compare to Tiger Woods????? Obviously you know nothing about golf. Jack Nicholas is by far the greatest golfer of all time. Not even close.

@David Harper I feel like another lengthy reply will be wasted on you. So here is something to chew on. Ruminate if you will. Jack has 73 top tens in majors. Tiger Woods only has 73 total cuts made.

@Mark And mentioning top 10's, as I said, means you are disregarding the depth of field argument because you are comparing apples to oranges as far as talent depth, therefore a top 10 in Jack's day was easier than a top 10 in Tiger's day because of stronger fields... Get it now?...

@David Harper Not only did I not gloss over it at all, my whole reason for responding was addressing that point. Literally every sentence is addressing the point of the deeper fields faced.

@Mark And you discounted the main argument, that there aren't as many talented players and you just gloss over that fact... Top tens, top 2's and 3's all go to the depth of fields...

@David Harper Right. What does that have to do with what I said? Jack did play against easier competition though it is pretty easy to take that argument too far. A lot of the guys Jack faced in the 70s were still competing well against the same competition Tiger faced when he joined the tour. Jack and Tiger don't have anywhere close to similar major records. Jack is so far ahead of anyone who has ever played in the absolute numbers. Jack has 73 top tens in majors. Tom Watson and Sam Snead (both of whom contended in majors in their late 50s) are second with 46 top tens in majors. Tiger has 41 (largely because of injuries and personal problems). The odds that Tiger would have anywhere close to 73 top tens against Jack's competition is zero. Tiger only has 73 cuts made. Jack was on top for almost a decade longer than Tiger.

Definitely a greatly entertaining major season. Seeing Hideki Matsuyama be the first Japanese to win the Masters, seeing Phil win another one, seeing the upcoming rise of Collin Morikawa...

Colin might be an all time great. Don’t want to jinx him but he’s cold blooded, a pure ball striker and a smart player. All of the traits of an absolute monster on the course. Have a sneaking suspicion he’ll win 10+ majors.

Collin was born in California, so was Tiger, people forget that Tiger is more Asian than any other race. Tiger's only 30% African. If anyone in today's golf will beat Tiger's records it will be Collin, very similar players.
